Holbrook Health Center Receives Top Score from Maine Licensing Agency

Holbrook Health Center, the skilled nursing care component of Piper Shores’ lifecare retirement community, recently received a report of “Zero Deficiencies” by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Licensing and Regulatory Services as part of their annual inspection in August. Such a report is extremely rare and is reserved for only the highest quality elder care providers in Maine.

“At Holbrook, our team is committed to the highest standards of resident care” said Jim Adamowicz, Piper Shores CEO. “Our PersonFirst® approach means that we take the time to get to know each of our residents deeply to personalize their care plan. This approach, combined with a commitment to following the high standards of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), has helped Holbrook achieve Maine’s top rating.”

CARF is the nation’s only accrediting body for continuing care retirement communities and has awarded Holbrook exemplary status for its approach to care. This resident-centered care program was among the first of their kind in Maine when introduced a decade ago and represented a new standard in retirement and skilled nursing care.

In addition to the zero deficiencies rating, Holbrook also maintained its 5-Star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The Five-Star Quality Rating System was created to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily. 5-Stars is the highest rating offered by the agency.
