Holbrook Health Center Receives Top Performer Award from the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA)

Holbrook Health Center ssit Piper Shores recently received the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award from The American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA). The Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award was established in 2008 to recognize skilled nursing facilities for achieving excellence well beyond the Five Star rating system used by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The ACHCA uses quality indicators set by the CMS as well as occupancy rate, and three years of survey data to identify top performing skilled nursing centers each year. The ACHCA believes that skilled nursing excellence is a reflection of leadership excellence, so the purpose of the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award is to recognize the administrators of top performing skilled nursing centers. Only 35% of skilled nursing centers in Maine, and less than 9% of centers nationally receive this important distinction.

“The entire Holbrook team takes a personal, compassionate approach to resident care,” said Jim Adamowicz, CEO of Piper Shores. “We are pleased that this resident centered approach to care – what we call ‘PersonFirst’ – is reflected in our high ranking from the ACHCA.”

Holbrook was recognized specifically for their three years of exemplary survey reports, 80% or greater occupancy, and top quartile performance on all quality indicators.
