Holbrook Enhances Award-Winning Approach to Nursing Care

This fall Holbrook entered phase one of a three-phase transition to electronic medical records (EMR). During phase one, nurses and nursing assistants will begin keeping care notes on mobile laptops and touch-screen computers located in patient rooms. By bringing the documentation process to the bedside, nurses are able to take more accurate care notes, and spend more hands-on time with residents and patients, enhancing Holbrook’s patient-centered care model.

In addition to the EMR, Holbrook will also be undergoing a building renovation—from common areas to the physical therapy room. The physical therapy room will have all new equipment, an elevated ceiling, and almost 50% more working space. In addition, Holbrook residents have access to the new pool and fitness being built at the Piper Shores retirement community.
